Touch screen doesn't respond

I have a Janome 9000. During my last project to touch screen stopped responding. It will stitch straight, but I have no options available. Could it be a loose connection or do I need to replace a part? The repair shop told me it might cost $400.00 to repair. Is it worth it? Can I get a part to repair it myself?
