My friend invited me to a play day today after school today. I don't like him because he's obsessed with war and he is annoying! He really wants me to go swimming with him but I don't want to. What should I do? Is there some excuse for going to his house? Thanks! :-)

  1. You can be honest tell him you don't think the two of you have much in common.  You can tell him you don't feel like swimming today or just make up an excuse like you have plans with your family.  He invited you because he wants to hang out with you maybe he has a crush on you so let don't be cruel just tell him you can't go over to his house today.

  2. well, if you don't like him, he's not your friend.

  3. This is always tough when someone likes you but you don't really care for them.

I think everyone deserves a chance though. Maybe go over to this guy's house THIS time and if you don't like him still for whatever reason, make up the excuse next time. He really likes you so don't be shallow.

Maybe he just seems weird when really he isn't, but everyone deserves a chance don't you think?

As for the excuse, you could say your parents said no. No reason, just straight to the point. If he asks why, just say because they said no.

OR, you could always tell him the truth. In the long run, the truth will help him. It may hurt, but at least you are being honest with him and yourself.

    Hope this helps!

  4. Tell your friend that you are extremely busy due to your family personal issues and that way, he will leave you alone for a day.

  5. Why don;t you just tell him that your parents are being really strict on you at the moment because theyre concerned about your studying or something. And right now you need to make sure that you get all your work done, and you're a bit behind, so you would love to come over, but unfortunately you have to respect your parents wishes and if you don't, theyll ground you....or something like that!

  6. Make up some family reason, he can't argue with that say that your mum or dad wants you to help them with something, or that you have to babysit......

  7. The way I red the question is that you would prefer going to his house rather than going swimming with him.

    Is that right?

Well if so, tell him that you want to try out a new recipe and that it should be done at his place.

    Here is the recipe...

    It really works. Try it...

    HOME MADE COTTON CANDY

    You will need;

    5 cups granulated sugar

Scant 1 1/3 cups light corn syrup

    1 cup plus 2 T. water

    Flavored oil

    Food color paste

    Vegetable baking spray

To make this recipe at home, you will need a pair of wire cutters and an old inexpensive whisk. Cut the round ends off an inexpensive whisk. Arrange the tines so they are evenly spaced. You will also need an open space to make the cotton candy. At home, slit open a garbage bag and cover the floor area. Wedge 2 long wooden spoons under something heavy so they extend off the edge of the counter.

Place the sugar, corn syrup, and water in a 2-quart heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium-high heat. Insert a candy thermometer and cook the sugar mixture until it reaches 320 degrees F, what is known as the hard crack stage (the sugar becomes brittle when it comes in contact with a cooler surface). Remove from the heat and carefully pour into a medium-size microwaveable glass bowl. If you leave the sugar in the pan, the sugar will continue to cook and turn dark brown. A glass bowl will hold the temperature of the sugar. I put a towel under the bowl to keep the bowl from tipping over and to protect my hands from the heat of the glass. (The sugar will stay liquid enough to work with easily for about 10 minutes; after that it will start to thicken. If this happens before you are finished, just pop the bowl in the microwave for 3 to 5 minutes, or until the sugar is liquid enough to work with once again.) If you are going to color and/or flavor the sugar, add those drops now.

Dip the tines into the hot sugar. Allow the sugar to drain off for 1 to 2 seconds until the draining sugar strands are relatively the same consistency. Then wave the whisk over the extended wooden spoons and allow the sugar strands to gently drift until they are resting on top of the spoons. Make sure you are about 12 to 18 inches above the spoons. Use broad long strokes and work quickly. Gather the cotton candy and roll onto paper that you've rolled into a long, thin cone, like cotton candy is served in at the carnival or serve as is. If you need to store the cotton candy for a few hours, place it in an airtight container. The delicate sugar will melt in a humid environment.

    Or try this one.............

    Green pepper marmalade/jam

This is a lovely jam for having on toast. Be sure to chop the green peppers finely

4 cups of finely chopped green peppers 500 ml sugar

2 ml salt 2 ml fine ginger

    2 ml mixed spice

Mix all ingredience in a stainless steel pot and stand for 21/2 hours. Bring to boil for about 40 minutes over a moderate heat until syrup thickens. Remove from heat and bottle while warm in sterilized bottles.

  8. It is always a tough decision, when you have to tell your friends "no"!  Except...when it's something you have strong convictions about.  Albeit going swimming it not the object of your dilemma; the person connected to your plight is immersed in its plot.

What should you do?  Stop hiding behind the facade of supporting his obsession with war!  You KNOW your friend, you'll also know how to deliver the truth to him about this annoying past time he's involved with.

Know the truth, and the truth will make you both free to be the REAL friends you're supposed to be or not.

    Peace...

    Blakely

  9. tell him you have dysmenorrhea! he cant object with that reason! hahha
