Tough task for New York Giants ahead as they travel to play against Dallas Cowboys – NFL News
In the 2011 season, New York Giants defeated Dallas Cowboys twice to not only gain edge over their divisional rivals, but also end the latter’s playoff hopes.
Giants defeated Cowboys in Week 14 and then in the regular season finale in Week 17 to qualify for the playoffs, while Cowboys were eliminated.
This season, however, things seem to be going the other way round. Giants hosted Cowboys to mark the beginning of the 2012 season and faced a defeat, and they are now preparing to face Cowboys at Cowboys Stadium in Week 8.
Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones had said before the start of the season that his team would kick the Giants’ a*s and after the victory in the season opener Cowboys are hoping to hand another loss to the defending champions.
According to the details present on Giants’ website, running back Ahmad Bradshaw said of such comments:
“We take pride in the billboard postings and different things, which motivates our team, and we just use it all for motivation for the game.”
Cowboys have played three games on road this season. They defeated Carolina Panthers in Week 3 and got a stunning victory over San Francisco 49ers in Week 6. However, they were defeated by Philadelphia Eagles in Week 4.
Giants have a relatively better record on road and head coach Tom Coughlin is hoping to continue the winning momentum going when they take on Cowboys. When pointed that Giants have maintained good record on road in recent times, Coughlin said:
“We’ve done well on the road. We’ve played well on the road. It’s all about preparation, but it’s about the idea of all we’ve got is each other. Each man is responsible and accountable to another. The hostile environment, we’ve done a pretty good job
with it. It would take me a long time to explain the whole typical deal, but that’s mostly where I start from.”
At present, Giants are on a three-game winning streak (one road victory and two victories at home). Cowboys will try their best to prevent the winning streak getting stretched to four games.
