Pakistan’s Khalid Latif was tackled by a pitch invader in the team’s final ODI against Australia in Perth during January 2010. The invader has since been banned for life from attending cricket matches but has received just an AU$500 fine, the maximum allowable under Western Australian laws. The man has been charged by police with assault, but should the WA laws be changed to allow a much greater fine to be imposed on pitch invaders?
