  1. Georgia, Florida, LSU-all in the top ten.  then add Auburn, and Alabama for 5 teams in the top 25.......conversation OVER about who the best conference is......S..E..C.

  2. 1.  SEC

    2.  Pac-10

    3.  Big 12

    ....

    ....

    ....

    Dead last: Big 10

  3. It's an interesting - yet pointless - debate.  The nature of college football lends itself to the dominant conferences being cyclical. Big 10 and ACC are down right now.  Big East is somewhere between average and great.  USC is very good but also very top heavy.  The SEC has powerful teams in both divisions and seems to be on top right now.. In 10 years it may be completely different.

For these two conferences to "battle" every year is a bad idea because of the cyclical nature of the business model and also a practical impossibility.  It just won't happen so why discuss it?

Which group of teams is toughest right now?  That's hard to say.  Many people thouth (or still think) that UF or UGA would compete for the BCS title.  I think that injuries/suspensions and strength of schedule have eliminated both teams.  Are the injuries a result of weakness or are players competing so hard at such an elevated talent level that players are hurting themselves?  I don't know and I don't care.

  4. AP lists 4 SEC teams in the top 10; six in the top 25 (3 from east, 3 from west).

And I too would like to see more inter league competition.

  5. swamp 79

    Oklahoma #4

    Texas #11

    Texas Tech #12

Conversating is open again...that is 3 teams in the top 15...

I am going with Big 12

  6. ok first I gotta say this year maybe those two will be the topic.. down the road.. no.. SEC West will take over with that line-up of coaches.. just sick.. but as for rankings and opinion polls I say blah.. pointless debate there.. who knows who's right?.. I will say SEC East only because they'll play much tougher schedules than anyone in the big 12 will play.. Florida has Miami/Florida St, Georgia has Az St, Georgia Tech, UT has Cal.. and these teams will do well.. then look at the other side.. SEC West isn't a slouch with LSU and Auburn sitting there in the top 10.. and those teams from the East will play those too..

so I vote SEC East by a slim margin.. and ya I'd like to see them duke it out top 3 vs top 3 cuz Vandy sucks

  7. I will say SEC fans are the best at not reading the question, or spouting their opinion and not bothering to answer the question. Fans of all teams and conferences do it, but they seem to do it more. Maybe winning the title two years in a row has made them that way.

This year, I think the SEC east by a hair. I agree with Way that it is cyclical and therefore it would be a bad idea to have a ACC/Big ten challenge kind of thing. Just look at the ACC big ten challenge in basketball. The big ten has slumped, and now gets embarrassed.

  8. #1 in the nation.....Georgia

    #5 in the nation.....Florida

    #18 in the nation....Tennessee

    This conversation is over!

  9. pac ten is the best confrence in the ncaa

with usc, arizona state, washington, oregon and oregon state

pac ten is gonna be good for many years to come

  10. this goes back forth but this year I'll take Big 12 South Oklahoma, Texas, and Texas Tech any of them could walk away with it

Oklahoma State and Texas A&M look to be mediocre but might spoil someone season

the only team in this division that just plain sucks is Baylor

  11. pac-10 they got usc and origan, both arazonias are good.

  12. SEC all day....maybe not necessarily from the east, but my bet is that an SEC team will be the national championship this year...with the exception of Vanderbilt (sorry commodores), this is the best division top to bottom in the country....

  13. SEC East is a good choice: Tennessee, Florida, UGA and Kentucky

Big 12 South is also good: Oklahoma, Texas, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, OK State

I'd say SEC East has the edge.

  14. BIG TEN beats both.

  15. pac-10 or big-12
