Toulon willing to break bank to keep Jonny Wilkinson
Toulon owner Mourad Boudjellal has admitted he will pay good money to keep Jonny Wilkinson at the French side.
Wilkinson has been in great form for the French side so far this season. He's scored a total of 212 points in just 18 appearances, which makes him one of the most effective players in the club.
Boudjellal said: "I want to extend [his contract]. And I didn't wait to begin discussions.
It's actually my main priority but I'm not very worried. The player wants to stay and his president wants to keep him at any price so we should come to an agreement
quite quickly."
Wilkinson is one of the most experienced fly half players in the world. There are many reasons why Toulon needs to offer him whatever he likes to sign a new deal at the
end of the season.
A quality player
The biggest asset to Wilkinson's game is that he is able to keep his side in matches. His kicking ability is superb as he regularly converts penalties and conversions.
This means Toulon stays in games for longer.
Passing is a big part of Wilkinson's game. It often gets ignored because of his kicking skills but he can link up any two parts of the team with one pass. This is very
useful in getting the ball forward quickly and easing the pressure on the defence.

His fitness is superb and he has managed to stay in good shape despite now being 31-years-old. This allows him to compete against physical opponents in the middle of the
pitch for longer into matches.
His experience is growing all the time. Toulon will want him to stay on and help younger players coming through the ranks at the club. Wilkinson knows a lot about rugby
that he can pass on.
Betting advice
Wilkinson is the ideal player to back in every match to score the most points. The odds will be slightly shorter because of his effectiveness. Back him to be highest scorer
at Toulon this season because he has more chances to score points.
