  1. First you may hire a car. It may be Innova, Taverra, Qualis...

Then then you may first go to rameshawaram, then to madurai and at last you may go to Kanyakumari.. you may include Thhekdi and Maisore they are also good places to visit.. but you may have to do Night Travelling.. as you have less days..

  2. Those are good places..You could leave from Bangalore to Madurai on 13th night as scheduled and you will reach Madurai by 14th morning. You could halt in Madurai and take a train or buses are available in plenty from the Periyar Bus stand in Madurai to Rameshwaram which is 160 kms from Madurai, The busses should take you in 3 hrs or so to Rameshwaram. You could also hire a car to Rameshwaram becoz there are lot of good places on the way to and in Rameshwaram which will give u enough time for sight seeing at ur convenience. If not thats ok...You could hire a room in the hotel nearby, take a dip in the sea and there are also some theerthas(holy wells) from where water will be fetched and poured on you. This small trip into the temple is organised in groups so you could pay some money per head to enjoy the blessings of the water from the holy wells. Beware of 3rd parties who will try to lure u for money. So go straight to the counter and get ur token for the holy well. You could worship the lord and Rameshwaram's corridor is a guinness record for the longest corridor in the world...enjoy them...after that u could take a local bus to a place called Ramar paatham (Rama's feet) where the feet impression of Rama is there..its a wonderful place and the sea level is so low like a rain water pond. Its fun there...The evening, you could go to Danushkodi, one of the places demolished by storms in the 1964 but the waves here are very high and roaring...no bathing here...u cant step into the sea itself...its so rough...u could enjoy collecting shells and speaking to people there..people still live there..you should taste the freshwater from the pits the residents fetch drinking water..its great...drinking good water from the salty soil is really a miracle there..i dont know if there are bus services but u could bargain for a good deal for a car to Danushkodi....one day is actually enough for Rameshwaram..but on the way to Rameshwaram there is a place called Devipattinam..where Lord Rama had made nine sand dunes for nine planets..he worshipped them and let to Ceylon, legends say. These nine dunes are still there and aare open to air in the morning and then are covered with the sea water, so u need to take a boat (i think) to see them...i have heard a lot of it...a must see place.....Leave Rameshwaram on 14th night and reach ur hotel by midnight or early morning..Madurai is a buzzing city, so dont worry abt robbery and such things...people are always there around....On 15th, you could have a local sight seeing to Meenakshi Temple, Tirumalai Nayakkar Palace. Any auto wala can take to the palace from the Temple. Must pay only 20-30rs. not more....The palace has light and sound shows in the evening..just check out the time of the shows..The famous solo song of Manisha Koirala in Bombay was shot here...There is also a big pond from where sand was used to build the meenakshi temple..the pond is called 'Teppakulam' (meaning Pond in Tamil)..its also a nice place..its a hugeee pond...its got a small temple in the center of it and u could walk to it..need to take a local bus to teppakulam..there are lot of busses via this stop,,,,and then Kodaikanal is one hill station which you need one day to see around (this could be made optional)..You could leave to Kanyakumari as soon as u feel bored of Madurai and it is another location, where u can enjoy the sunset. You could also visit Padmanabhapuram close to kanyakumari in the Kerala border, where there is a famous palace of the Kerala style...dont miss an evening in the kanyakumari shore, to watch the elegant sunset.....happy holidays...

  3. i know there is atleast one bus service to madurai from bangalore. rameshwaram can be done by hiring a car or through local buses from madurai - i guess there is a train as well. car is recommended as there are some places around rameshwaram and also in madurai that you may wnat to visit.

arrange stay in rameshwaram in advance- especially if there is a festival etc.

you would require about a day to cover the two places well including transportation between madurai and rameshwaram in a car. ideal is to reach  madurai in the morning, go to rameshwaram in the night and then kanyakumari can be done from madurai.

the return can be a train to bangalore from kanyakumari.

you can also go to  kodai easily from madurai

  4. Hire the best SUV from a certified travel organisation like sai travels, then plan to visit Madurai, Rameshwaram and kanayakumari.

You can also visit, Kodaikanal,(near Madurai) Palani temple,

Madurai Meenakshi temple on your way.

Madurai is around 450km from bangalore and rameshwaram is around 150km from Madurai and Kanyakumari is around 240 from Rameshwaram.

Kodai is around 25km from Madurai and Palani is around 25 km from Madurai.

    All the distances are approximate.
