  1. If I understand your question, you're looking for a tour with a driver and you ride. There are several options for a scooter tour including:

    http://www.argiletumtour.com/shop/catalo...

    http://www.bicibaci.com/english/tour_rom...

It's always possible to rent your own, but do believe what the others are telling you about driving in Rome.

Another option is a Segway tour: http://www.viator.com/Rome-tours/Segway-...

Personally, I like walking in Rome.

  2. there's a Bike Tour where you can ride a bike and they'll bring you all around the city...

    Anyway, call a travel agent!

Have fun in this beautiful city!

  3. Don't know of one but I'm sure someone will come up with a rental place for you. All they have to do is look it up in the Italian Yellow Pages.

I'm here to advise you that if you don't have any cross country motor bike experience then don't take to two wheels in Rome. The traffic is heavy and sometimes undisciplined. Motor bikes hardley ever follow the same road lwas that cars are bound to follow... so please try to avaod if you don't have some serious road experience with a bike.

  4. I just came back from Rome.  The town, like all Italian towns has some serious traffic as compared to New York traffic.  But I noticed the locals on Vespa scooters were more adept at getting down the boulevards, streets, alleys much better than cars.

Our tour guide joked that most Italians start off on bikes early, then move to Vespa's by their early teens....and if they're still alive...they drive cars in their late teens.  After seeing all the near misses but skilled maneuvers these kids make, I think she wasn't joking.

Be careful...a vespa is no match for a car/truck or Tour Bus if you get hit or crash.

  5. They don't have tours on them, but they have places all over to rent them, but they are very dangerous and hard to ride. People drive the crazy zipping in and out traffic and cars hit them a lot. They are also all manual!!

  6. I would call a travel agent, I think they might know of tours on scooters. Or getting a travel brochure about Rome. Or if you are already there, ask the Hotel people they would know if there is a rental place around there or guides or tours
