Lance, who has already won seven Tour de France titles, is aiming to win another one this year. When people and publishers promote this man and call him as one of the best athletes and fighters of the world, they are not really wrong. Armstrong has survived from testicular cancer and is proving to be a man full of spirit. Considering the fact that this year is going to be his last tour in France, the world of cycling will become a bit boring. His reputation in this game makes him an attraction for the host and the crowd of fans from all over the world. He is very well aware of the fact that after his retirement, a glorious era of cycling will come to an end. Lance Armstrong is definitely considered as a golden chapter in the book of sports and cycling in particular. He has fought against the accusations and controversies related to his doping tests in the recent past which prove that he is a fighter.

Currently, the champion is up against a tough preposition to win the 2010 edition of the Tour de France. In the beginning of the race, Armstrong was looking good and had a vivid lead over his rival’s. However, things changes and Lance suffered a flat tyre due to which he lost his control over the race. Lance lost some precious time in the process which is going to haunt him badly in the days to come. It is like a no win situation for the star but he is still confident of getting back into the race. The world is not expecting any less than a title win from this American superstar. On the other hand, his arch rival, the Spanish Alberto Contador has gained the lead once again. Critics are already considering Contador to win this race as he has grasped a very strong position in the third stage of the tour. Not only Contador but Andy Schleck is feeling confident of getting closer in finding a way to the title. The twists and dramas in the Tour de France have always been full of surprises. A spectator can only keep his fingers crossed till the end.

This tour will lead an end to the career of Lance Armstrong as well. A cycle race of 3600 kilometres is undoubtedly a test for all the athletes. The tour is in full swing but some hearts are full of mixed emotions of joy and sadness. That is what it seems to the fans, spectators and the world. But whatever happens in the end, Lance Armstrong will still be a hero and a role model for the next generation and his name will be written with honour and joy. It is true that a hero never dies as he is always remembered and lives in the hearts of millions across the globe.
