Tour de France: To whom the crown will go- Fabian Cancellera, Alberto Contador, Alessandro Petacchi or Lance Armstrong
The country of lavishness, beauty and cycle racing is glowing with the biggest event of cycling. France and its bordering countries are waiting to see this year’s pride. Tour de France has a reputation of being the best and most difficult tour for all the world class cyclists from all around the world. The event has been entered into its fifth stage and athletes are testing their hope and stamina to the fullest.
It was a hot and sunny day, a true nerve wrecking test for the all the competitors .Teams were well aligned and a total of 188 riders started the race for the next 187.5 kilometres towards the end. Still it is hard to find out who the favourite of this year title are and who is going to wear the yellow jersey. However, the one who is still leading the event is Fabian Cancellera, a young dynamic professional cyclist from Switzerland. Cancellera, who has already won the tour of Oman this year, is well ready to settle the French event in a winning spirit. The Swiss man has gained the first place in the tour, yellow jersey is all he is wearing and that is all what matters to him.
After Fabian Cancellera, his veteran arch rivals a Spanish man and the defending champion Alberto Contador, is not so far away from him. Alberto Contador is one of the top professional cycle racing stars all around the world. He is also considered to be as the most favourite for winning the Tour de France 2010.Some of the critics have already declared him as this year title winner and the world champion. Therefore, it is not going to be an easy pill to swallow for the Swiss champion Fabian Cancellera, as he is followed by Alberto Contador.
Talking about the favourites one cannot ignore other strong contestants who are cycling for the glory. Italian cycling star Alessandro Petacchi has received same points as the Fabian Cancellera in the last stage of the tour. Petacchi, has the capacity of surprising the world and winning any race he desires for. Not only this, but he was the one who finished the first stage of the event at the number 1 spot. Therefore, it is not an easy target to achieve because all the world class athletes are aiming for the only one title of champion’s crown. No one is bowing out for anything lesser than that.
In the fifth stage of Tour de France, it was Cavendish Mark and Renshaw of HTC Columbia team, who both dazzled the rest with their intelligent grip over the cycle racing game. Some moves not only gives you lead but if they are taken at the right moment, can cause a great chance in any course. That is what these two stars did; they made a very right move at the very right time, took vivid control and set their leader to lead the final 200 meters of the required distance of the day’s 187.5 km. Another player who is not of lesser reputation is the former world number 1 and a living legend, Lance Armstrong. However, he is losing his grip over the race and lacking the momentum but he has the capability to do something beyond boundaries. Lance is considered to be one of the world’s most intelligent athletes .He is very well aware of the fact that he has less chances, as he has passed his glory gloomy days .But no one can count him out of the race at anytime. He can make a great return and can win a race if there is a very little chance.
Tour de France is getting exciting every day but it is still not the end. As days are sailing and a new champion can born at the end of the world’s most prestigious Cycle racing event.
