Manchester City’s Yaya Toure and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Pablo-Zabaleta-c29022 want to go on and build on last season’s success, as they have now set their sights on winning the Champions League this coming season.
Last season, the team failed to make it past their group, which included the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 and Bayern Munich. The team was then demoted to the Europa League, where they once again failed to make an impact and were eventually knocked out by Sporting Lisbon.
Toure has stated that winning the Premier League for the second season running is a priority for the team, but this time around, they are also looking to make an impact on the European stage.
Toure is quoted to have said: "I believe we can do it again and we have to go higher. The priority is the Premier League and go as far as possible in the Champions League.”
"It is important we continue to improve and we hope we can be successful this year as it is an exciting year for us and for the fans."I have been here two years now and won two cups and now we need more and if we sign players this summer I hope they will be
fantastic players."
Zabaleta seems to be on the same page as Toure, as he admitted that the team needs to try and make a name for themselves in Europe. He admitted that he was happy with the way the team won the league last season, but it was now time for the Manchester based
club to build on that success and push forward.
"We have the Champions League. We didn't play our best in the Champions League, we know that, and maybe this year we will try and improve that work.”
"We had a tough group last year, but I think we have good players to do better in the Champions League."
The team have not yet gone on to make a number of signings in the summer transfer window, but should they look to add some more quality to their team, they can easily go on and prove to be a menace in the Champions League.
