Manchester City’s midfielder, Yaya Toure believes that City are one step close to lifting the Premier League crown, following their win over Newcastle United.
Toure was in sensational form against Newcastle, as the midfielder went on to dominate the midfield early on in the game, as he broke up countless Newcastle attacks.
However, in the second half, Toure was given a whole lot more freedom and he went on to score two goals, which saw his side cruise to a very comfortable win and pick up all three points from the game.
As a result of this win, City are still on top of the league table and should they win their last game of the season, the team would go on and claim the Premier League crown at the end of the season.
Following the win, Toure feels that his side are finally edging closer to lifting the Premier League title this season and should they avoid any fall outs in the last game of the season, they will be crowned as Champions of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749.
The City midfielder went on to state: “I think so [that we have one hand on the trophy]. But I think it’s not finished, we have one game at home.”
“We have to be careful because we are fighting to save the Premier League. I think it’s going to be tough but I think we are one step [closer] to taking the trophy.”
“We have to continue to work and hard and believe until the last game.”
The midfielder then went on to admit that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mancini-c23323 had a word with the midfielder in private before the start of the game, where he told him that he had to deliver and perform in his game, or the team could suffer.
Toure added: “He was saying I have to deliver today, because it’s an important game with important players. I always believed I came to this club to make a story.”
With Toure doing as his manager asked, it is now up to him and the rest of his team to maintain their lead and win their first league title in over forty years.
