Manchester City’s defender, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kolo-c21278 Toure has gone on to express his concerns over his team’s defending abilities and has stated that they need to improve in the near future, if they are to win anything this season.
One of the prime reason for City winning the league last season, was down to the fact that their defensive work was outstanding, with neither of the players making any massive mistakes.
However, this time around, things seem to be quite different for the team. They went on to lose to Aston Villa by four goals to two in the league cup, which has now resulted in the team conceding fourteen goals in seven game.
On top of all that, the team have not managed to keep a single clean sheet this season, which if anything, is rather disappointing by their standards.
Kolo Toure seems to be greatly disappointed with the team’s performances, and when talking about just how the loss against Villa felt, the player is reported to have said: "It was a disappointing night"
"The team didn't play well. We conceded four goals, which is not good, and we gave some cheap goals to Villa as well."It concerns us because a team like Man City cannot expect to concede four goals at home.”
"Since the season started we have not had a clean sheet and that is very important when you want to be a top club, you have to defend better as a team.”
"As a defender and as a group we have to work on it because mistakes were done by a few players and when you win it is everybody so when you lose it is everybody."
In order for City to bounce back, they are going to have to step their game up, with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mancini-c23323 trying to get his defenders back to the levels that they displayed last season.
Despite the team having some of the best defenders in the league, it is anybody’s guess as to why things just aren’t working for the Manchester based club.
Nonetheless, it is now a wait to see just what Mancini does to remedy the situation that the team are in.
