I will be in Berlin, Germany on May 25 and 26. I plan to visit the Reichstag, probably on the 25 th. I would like to find out if the morning is a good time to visit and what the wait time to enter would be then. Also is it OK to take video inside the dome?

  1. I just want to say all the in formations you got from the nice people is correct. Have fun.... in Berlin. You like this place.

  2. Waiting time is usually between 1 hour and 2 1/2 hours, with 2 hours being the average. If you intend to visit I suggest you bring something to occupy you during the wait.

Personally however I found the visit not worth the hassle - all you can do is to walk around in the glass dome and stand on the roof. You hardly get to see the building at all - all you can see is the skyline of Berlin. This can be had much faster at the Fernsehturm - for a small fee. So only go visit the Reichstag if you are short on budget, but have plenty of time - or are really really interested in the building.

  3. It's the Pentecoast Week-end. Sunday and Monday are public holidays. Berlin will be crowded. So better visit the Reichstag on the 25th.

  4. Friday May 25th would be the best time (far busier on the weekends) and yes you can photograph and film inside because you will be in the public or common area. It opens to the public at 8:00 a.m.

Here is the German Parliament website:

    http://www.bundestag.de/htdocs_e/parliam...

Click on Visitors on the left hand side of the webpage and a visitors pamphlet in a .pdf file is shown giving all the tour details. Have fun, it's a very impressive building!
