  1. I agree!

  2. Ooohhh.... I love Vietnam, esp in the north.

I love Hanoi and its unique streets of sweets, coffins, sewing stuff...

I love Sapa for its mountains and valleys and very very nice inhabitants.

I love Bacca for its colourful market with all kinds of wares and food for the locals.

I love Halong Bay and the Catba island for their uniqueness.

I love Hue and its ancient history, buildings, Confucious' temple...

I love Saigon for its life and energy.

I love the Mekong Delta for its little stilt villages.

I learnt a lot from the Cuchi tunnels, Caodai temple, museums...

I love VIETNAM, and so would you!!!

  3. i've been over a dozen times ,and i couldn't agree w/ you more. i just cant wait to go back. i find it more of an adventure than a vacation. i've been to phu quoc, but it rained most of the time.. i'll make a effort to go back some day but my real love is the northern countryside, nghe an , and quang binh provences, and of course my home away from home, nha trang.. i just miss it so much when i'm away.. that said i dont think viet nam is for everyone. it can be rough getting around and can be a little dirty for the "finnicky". of course there is the "upscale rout" , fancy hotels and resorts.. and they are great ..but that isn't  whats special about viet nam, and you can get that anywhere. the true glamor, tresure of viet nam is the back alleys of sai gon, jungles in the central highlands, the lush countryside and of course the people . traveling the public busses and overnight train, "mr taods wild motor bike ride" through the crowded city streets .it is tough  and sometimes dangerous but its where the real reward and tresure of viet nam lies.. not for the squeemish....see you there. hen gap lai

  4. Yes, I must agree.  Mango Bay is great and was their in February.  I'm slowly adding information and photos to my web site  http://vietnam-now.com about it.

Also some friends just returned from Phu Quoc and I'll be posting some of thier photos soon.

  5. never been to vietnam but i heard it's a pretty cool country to visit

  6. Vietnam is the absolute best place to go. Please don't tell any one. That could spoil it for us if more discover the beauty of the place. And reasonable! I think I may retire there

  7. i wish i cud visit ;)

  8. I went there nearly 15 years ago to do some work, fell in love with the place (and the girl who is now my wife of 12 years)and I have been there ever since, it may not be a place for everyone, but people I have met over the years who had been to Thailand, Malaysia etc all said that Vietnam would be the place they would be most likely to return to. Saigon has to be the busiest city when it comes down to motorbikes and I have seen many an expat get concerned over the traffic when it comes to crossing the roads, it is fun to watch sitting in the road side cafe.

Phu Quoc is a nice place, but there are so many fantastic places in Vietnam with fantastic people, where do you really begin???

Anyone who comes to Saigon go down Dong Khoi street in district 1 and look for Ice Blue or The Underground, two great bars that have great atmospheres
