  1. I know that the rules change for each nation, but i checked with the my state department,  they said for us, that we had 90 days, and then we were suppose to leave and come back in,  they did say  that only meant to go over the border, and then come right back in, and pay my $20 usd  and get another stamp.   I would just have to do it every 3 months, if i decided to stay.  So check with your * state department* on how they handle your particular passport. also some shots maybe required,  they were * suggested* for me.  and Once i returned, i could not give blood for a year.   Good luck,

  2. It depends on your nationality. For British people visiting Turkey it is necessary to buy a 3 month tourist visa on entry (£10) which can be renewed. Other nationalities have other limitations/prices/no visa at all.

See here for full details: http://www.egm.gov.tr/hizmet.yabancilar....

(sorry I couldn't find it in English)

  3. Unfortunately no. As per your nationality you will be given the Turkish visa at the border and if you would like to extend it in turkey, it would become a night mare for you because you have to contact with police department by submitting a very good reason to extend it. Normally the custom officers give visas for  reasonable periods especially for citizenship of EU countries.
