I don't know about in the US, but the highest I ever heard anywhere was a tournament they held in 2001 in Tokyo. IT had an $800,000 purse, and Efren Reyes won the first place prize of $160,000.

Most of the post are for the total purse -all the prize money -$50K-$100K is pretty popular but just the winners share varies a small amount most of the time on a 50K the winner usualy gats 11-to 14K
