Towcester’s Thoroughbred Breeders Association Mares´ "National Hunt" Novices´ Hurdle, an ideal starting point for Buxom
Buxom made a wonderful start to her career by racking up a couple of fascinating victories last autumn. After doing well in bumpers for Oliver Sherwood in 2011, the 5-year-old could not continue the good work, and suffered two embarrassing defeats earlier
this season.
After ending up fifth at Sandown, the mare was unable to raise her game, and finished 10th last time out. The audience at Aintree saw her remaining unsuccessful in the John Smith's Mares' Standard Open National Hunt Flat Race (Listed Race).
No one can afford to take the credit away from her despite a couple of defeats. The daughter of Milan has recently joined Jamie Snowden’s yard, having been picked up for 27,000GBP at the sales.
She will surely be under some pressure at the start of her new journey. Nevertheless, the supporters don’t need to get worried, because the mare has found an ideal starting point for her new yard.
She is not facing the toughest of oppositions today, and holds a very good chance of coming out on top. There are six other runners in the class 4 meeting. As per the schedule, the 2-mile event will be kicked off at 15:50 GMT.
Nuisance showed no excitement in bumpers, and needs to improve a bit. If Tom Symonds’ charge fails to raise her game, it will be very hard for her to challenge rest of the pack.
Roseini tailed off in two runs over hurdles in summer, and cannot be backed. The Wee Lass was an impressive winner on bumper debut, but failed to continue the fine job. The Arthur Whiting-trained needs more to make an impression over hurdles.
According to our calculations, Valrene is the biggest threat to Buxom. Robin Dickin’s charge did well when third at Huntingdon. After making a wonderful effort, she started making mistakes, and faced an awful loss last time.
Buxom is unlikely to face any issues in getting the better of this opposition, which includes a few out-of-form runners. It is an ideal stage for the 5-year-old to earn a classy win for Jamie Snowden. Good luck to all the contestants.
