So I have one of those standard one bar towel racks and one side got pulled out of the drywall and the other side is still in solid. Should I just get some of those blue plastic drywall things you s***w into or what? Thanks for the help!

  1. Yes get a Rawlplug or similar and s***w it back in through that

  2. The plastic anchor may not hold up too long either.  Another option would be a toggle bolt.  Go to your home improvement store and ask them.  They are very helpful.

  3. yep .. dry wall "plugs" (those plastic things) are good..

put it in the hole an s***w the s***w into it.

  4. you can do that but they break easy when you are constantly moving something that you repair it with like constant interaction with the towel rack drying hands and what not. they sell the metal little sheets that look like the texture of one of those metal foot files. they have them at harbor freight tools. I know that forsure.. you just cut it and shove it in the hole its jagged so it holds the s***w!! it works. Those plastic things break!! Good luck

  5. Sounds like it was held by screws just into the sheetrock.

Yes, you can use a plastic anchor.

You should replace the other also.

  6. Don't use those little drywall anchors - they're a waste of time. Either use EZ Anchors (they have very wide threads which you s***w into the drywall, or use toggle bolts. If you find a stud in the wall, use a coarse thread drywall s***w for that side of the rack. If the rack is 16" wide, you can probably finds studs on both sides. Hope this helps.

  7. get the plastic inserts that look like a big s***w they work great
