I would like to travel through South Africa on my motorbike with side-car. Is it permissible to tow a caravan with such a vehicle?

  1. No Cakes the reason is it is highly unlikely that you are going to get out of your driveway in the first place. I do not think the motorbike is going to budge that caravan......rather get some tame oxen to pull it.

  2. If you have a bike like this you can !

  3. You will definitely land in the Guinness Book of Records if you can (^_^)

  4. Lol cakes, the caravan will stay and you will be revving it up and the sight will be something else. I will be possible to tow a caravan with you motorbike but you will not fit in it. Will be too small.

  5. No.

The South African traffic laws do not make provision for the towing of any trailer or caravan by motorcycle.

Sorry, just one of those things.

It has to do with the categories of the driving licenses where a person with a normal light motor vehicle may not tow while one with a different category driving license may, and unfortunately there is no motorbike license that makes provision for towing.
