Question:

Towing with my Envoy?

I own a 2008 Envoy FWD base model SUV. I need to tow a mini-van from one city to another, an average of about 200 miles. Does anyone know if it would be safe to pull it on a trailer and not hurt my suv in any way? The mini-van weighs about 5350 pounds and average weight of a trailer is 2000. My SUV did come with a receiving hitch. I really don't want to damage my car in any way being that it is only 2 months old.

  1. it should be fine. i have seen GMC Envoys towing house trailers

  2. Okay first the Envoy will be either RWD or 4WD they do not make a FWD Envoy and second the vehicle is rated at only 5000 pounds towing capacity.

As for any type of damage that can be done, you can ruin the transmission, the engine and the drive-line, you should never exceed the max that the vehicle can tow.........

Also if any damages are done and remember that the vehicle is under warranty, this "WILL" void out the warranty.......
