  1. It's ok but be prepared for the weather, It's pretty tropical and in the firing line for heavy weather although the cyclones tend to go further north. Cyclone Larry (Cat 5) which smashed Innisfail in March 2006 was only 200kms north of Townsville.

My daughter has just moved from Mission Beach to Coffs Harbour (NSW) to get a better balance in the weather.

    good luck

  2. I love Townsville . It is different . The foreshore is beautiful. But if you have never lived in the Tropics before you may find the humidity very draining. They have super winters.I haven't lived there for some years now so not sure of the answers you want. there used to be plenty of work especially in the tourist season which is winter. http://www.realestate.com.au/realestate/...

  3. Go straight to cairns, townville is full of throwbacks and rednecks!!There is heaps of work up here, rental properties prices are cheap compared to any other capital city in Australia,Cairns would also have to be one of the cleanest and where can I start about the beaches up here, just amazin!!The only thing townsvilles got going for it is Magnentic Island...Go straight to Cairns!!you wont be diappointed!!
