Toxic Bank stands first in 6th Leg Pick 6 Jackpot at Yarmouth
Toxic Bank heralded a big upset by winning the 6th Leg Pick 6 Jackpot greyhound racing event at Yarmouth track yesterday on, January 18. The black dog clinched the top spot by beating the only favourite runner, Sky Classic,
along with four other opponents including Rough Maynard, Moors Littlelucy, Luminous Charm and Ratton key.
This unexpected victory came with a margin of 1 ¾ lengths. A few minutes before the start of the race, none of the spectators or bettors were ready to even think of Toxic Bank’s breakthrough, but the brilliant dog did a marvellous job impressing all.
The race started at 21:12. Breaking from trap 3, Toxic Bank took long leaps to lead the pack. Once the lead came, his second effort was to get a safe distance from his opponents so that they do not pose as a hinderance to his smooth run.
Running with sheer pace, the son of Droopys Scholes went away quickly. Rough Maynard tried to pose some challenges to him, but he demonstrated enough defence to march towards triumph.
Finally, the trainee of T W Saunders reached the finish line in 28.73 seconds. He achieved this position for the second consecutive time, and seventh overall. Whelped in August 2009, the dog started his career on May 4, 2011.
Rough Maynard, after a tough battle, finished second in the race with a difference of 1 ¾ lengths. The blue dog was sharp enough in the beginning, but bumped soon. After that, he wasn’t be able to recover his pace. Breaking from trap 5, the son of
Hondo Black bridged the distance in 28.87 seconds.
The trainee of A Kelly-pilgrim ended up with this rank for the second time since his debut in November, 2011. In his eight races so far, he got the top spot twice. The young dog was whelped in July, 2009.
After breaking from trap 1, Moors Littlelucy finished third. With a difference of 2 lengths, the brindle b***h covered the distance in 29.03 seconds. Whelped in October 2009, the daughter of Loyal Lucy is trained by R A Pendall.
