Toxic and really poisonous plants?

I live in the pacific northwest and was wondering if there are any specific plants that are extremly poisonous that should be avoided?

  1. The fundamental way to avoid poisonous plants is to avoid eating them.  Plants use chemical warfare to defend themselves against herbivores.  Some plants, e.g., poison oak, can cause problems by direct contact.  A few of my friends were hospitalized for breathing the smoke after throwing poison oak on a fire.

    Fungi, which are more closely related to animals than to plants, can also be poisonous.  Don't eat wild mushrooms unless they have been picked by an expert.  Every now and then I read about people who pick mushrooms that look like they should be safe and then the people wind up with severe liver damage.

  4. google it! check to see if there's any bullnettle there because I know that's dangerous and you have to pee on it to make the burning stop. That and jellyfish you have to pee on where you got stung.
