Toyota Celica VS Acura RSX?

Question

I definetly like how the Toyota looks better, but which is an overall better car in your opinion? I'm in the market for a used car and I'm still weighing my options.

Overall, the cars are very even in terms of...everything.

I think that the Acura RSX has a great shifter, which will make the car fun to drive. Don't look at an 06 model, because they are known to be unreliable. The ride is a bit harsh, and the back seat isn't much. But still, the car is great and Acuras are very smooth and nice-driving.

The Toyota will definitely be reliable, and it has a good ride, I think. You definitely need to go test drive these cars from various owners, just to see which one you like better. Also, consider price: the Acura is sure to be more expensive, but they have newer versions availible. It's a newer car, so if I were you, I would go with the Acura.

i'd say the rsx. though the price is higher than a celica it is more confortable and both are fuel efficient.

Toyota Celica is RWD which is easier to drive if you are experienced enough. Easy to maintain too. Back is pretty small though. 2 person car at the most. The RSX is FWD which is easier to drive if your a new driver. Gas is cheaper but, it isn't worth the money. Unless you want room in the back because it has more than a Celica.

Overall Choose the Celica because: Gas is still cheap for that car and it handles well.

Both the Celica and RSX are FWD cars with 4 cylinder engines making around 160HP each.

Go with the RSX. Acura RSX have a Honda motor and ivtec engine specs. This Engine will out last a Toyota engine and re-sale stays high on these cars. The feel of the RSX is much more sporty also. RSX with the ivtec engine will also get better gas mileage.

acura/honda's vvt technology outdates toyotas badly. and whoever said that celica's were rwd what the h**l are you talking about. i'd go with the acura rsx its just much more newer realiable and funner

The Celica is cute b/c it's lowers and girls look so cute in lowers cars , but I have to go with the RSX baby ..the performance is so much better it's girly yet sporty..I had a black rsx for 6 yrs. and loved it the best car I ever had considering it was my second. Acura make really good cars.

Now I have a 3 series...Bemeer.. =)

Mark U. - The Celica hasn't been rear wheel drive since 1985

I'd rather have an RSX (especially Type-S) though the 1999- Celicas are fine as well. The 2002-2005 Celicas are pure c**p as far as performance goes...the 2ZZ engine was designed for high rpm performance and they reduced the limiter down 600rpm from 8400 to 7800
