What should I buy? I would prefer if the price range is about $15,000-17,500.

But putting that aside, which one is the best? Both have equal fuel economy.

Honda Civic looks better, but people say Corolla is more reliabe and has cheaper maintence, etc.

  1. Toyota, better reliability and cheap performance mods

  2. honda...you get more for your money. And if you treat your honda good, they run forever.

  3. it depends who you are talking to when they say its more reliable... like the old ford and chevy debate... i would personally go with the honda.

  4. I have experience with both and I have no preference, both very good inexpensive caes.

  5. the corollas from 03-08 are the best in the S(175hp) or XRS(185 hp with six speed manual)

great gas and definetley look better than civics

i would do some nice mods to that corolla if i had one.,,,,,

  6. I own a 2008 Civic LX coupe, my neighbor has a 07 Toyota Corolla (S model i believe)

Although the gas mileage is supposedly equal, i do get better gas mileage than my neighbor does. Not that much, for an equal number of gallons of gas i probably get about 20-30 miles more out of a tank then he does.

As far as reliability, i can't really answer that for my 08, considering i've only had it for 6,000 miles. But so far i've had no problems, and the Corolla hasn't either. Maintenance costs are cheaper for my Civic though, my 30,000 mile servicing will be about $100 less than my neighbors.

They are both really good cars, one thing i will say though is that the corolla has less road noise than my Civic does, but my Civic definitely handles better than the Corolla (but that may be since mine is a coupe and the corolla is a sedan) We both agree the Civic looks better on the outside, and on the inside, than the Corolla does. We both think they are just as equally reliable, so really when it comes down to it, you'll probably be happy with either car. So go for whichever car feels/looks better to you!

If you like the look of the Civic, go for the Civic. If you want a Toyota instead, go for it! Either way, a Honda or Toyota, it will be a very reliable car that you can count on time after time.
