Toyota camry bad alternator. need help

toyota camry has a bad alternator. i need to start it. any help is appreciated

It depends on how much you want to spend. If you want the cheapest one, go to a wrecking yard. On a new one you will have warranty but on a used one you won't. Good luck.

you can jump stary the car just leav the cables on for a good 15 min to juce up the battire

no need to rev up the good car it is un nesary to do that it wont charg any faster

If your alternator is bad don't go buy a new battery, make sure your old one is working fine before you go buy a new one. Alternator is bad go get it replaced, but make sure that your alternator is bad because it could also be a wiring problem not just the alternator, but if you think the alt' is bad then go get it replaced and then put a battery charger on your car or have someone help you jump it, see if it will charge up then, but if you run your car now and the alternator is bad its useless because the car constantly relies on the battery to stay running, thats why the alternator was invented.

As long as the battery you have can be fully charged and on a slow charge system then if you only have to start it up , it should start up no problems.Just don't draw anymore power then needed , if you know the vehicle starts usaully right up that will be a bonus.So as long as you don't have to really drive it far , you should be okay to just move the car no problems.

What I might try to do is get a used alternator from a do it yourself auto wreckers and then simply replace that one on there but be sure you check that the atlternator on your car doesn't have corroded or rusty or loose connections and also once I've installed the replacement alternator I'd double check the battery . alternator, starter connections , especially the engine block ground if a older vehicle.

Don't attempt to drive it more then 20 mins at tops as it is in fact if a wreckers close enough like 10 mins or so I'd try to have a friend follow me and drive right to the wreckers take one off or buy one off shell and install on spot, that way you know it's fixed etc.

Well if the alternator has not been working for a while then it probably hasn't been charging your battery, and even if you jump start it it will not run because the battery has no charge, anyway to answer your question, you need to charge your battery fully or put a fully charged battery in it to start it and to keep it running, but because your alternator is shot it will draw all the power out of your battey now and it will drain pretty quick so get it fixed soon.
