I'm not normally a stupid person but we need an additional car. We have a found a 2004 Corolla we like with on 32k miles and a 06 Spectra for the same price with 42K. Does anyone have PERSONAL experience with either and which do you think is best?

  1. I have seen 4 Fatal Accidents in my lifetime, one of them was with a motorcycle, the other three were all Kia's. These cars are just not made well. Toyota is a much more trustworthy brand.

  2. WARNING!!!!

first off i have a kia i know.

if you want to replace the parts you have to do it at the dealership, the car parts stores say they have the parts but they dont fit.

there only good for about 100,000 miles, mine only lasted 60 thousand miles and then the engine blew.

the hood latch has a tendency to give out.

    so do the axles.

i can keep going and going.

if i were you id stick with the toyota.

and so you know im a mechanic and this is the worst car i ever bought!!!!!!

  3. Without a question, The Toyota is the far, far superior car.

Kia's have a low build quality and are built as throwaway cars.

BTW, your not stupid for asking a question you dont know the answer to.

  4. The Toyota will be a far more reliable and less expenive car to operate. The Toyota will get better milage too. The Korean cars are glitzy, but not as durable and well constructed as the Japanese cars yet. Give them another 10 years and take another look.

  5. Definitely Toyota. Kias are really bad cars. But Honda and Subaru are a bit better.

  6. Defiantely the toyota.  Like someone else said, Kia is a throwaway car.

  7. Normally, I'd say Kia because they're underrated, but the Toy will   last a bit longer and has less miles.

  8. i would go with the corolla also. i don't have any experience with Kia but i do with corolla. i used to have a 92 corolla that my nephew now has. it still runs great after 300 000km on it. my uncle has an 04 camry. it is also running fine with minor maintenance.

  9. I'd probably go with the Spectra, I have a 2004 Kia Optima and it has been a very good vehicle for me. The car has over 82,000 miles and pretty much the only thing I replaced so far is the struts and front brake shoes. I was a die hard Toyota supporter until Toyota outpriced themselves. If you take car of your Kia, it'll last just as long as a Toyota. Kia has come a long way and their transformation into a world-class car company is a lot faster than Toyota and Honda!

In my opinion Chevy, Ford and Dodge has the throw away car market cornered! Kia is a lot better than a lot of people give them credit for. I guess you have to own one in order to appreciate them, just like Honda and Toyota of the '70s!

  10. Please go with 2004 Toyota corolla because

    1.  The best economy car that can give you the highest mileage per gallon (MPG)

    2.  Have the best revalue

    3.  Less Maintenance

    4.  Last but not least, over 90 percentage population driving Toyota or Honda .

  11. go with the Toyota

Kia makes some good cars but the spectra is not one of them.

Kia Optma & Rondo are fine vehicles.

  12. I have owned both, If they are the same price...go with the Toyota, it is a better car, much bettor car.  Kia is a good car, if it is cheaper then the Toyota, but for the same price, Toyota hands down.  Toyota will have a better resale value when you go to sell it.
