Toys library?

Question

Hi All,

My daughter is one year and four months old. She goes to playgroup. She cries so much there as she doesn't want me to leave. whenever i m with her... she enjoys there... is it normal for all fresh play school going kids?

Recently I came to know about toys library concept. Is it really useful for kids? Have anyone joined such library?

HI its perfectly normal for kids to behave that way ..the older they are the worse it is ..... cos they realize ur importance so much in their life .... So guess u have to b little patient ..... She ll b fine .....

Abt Toy libraries ...its a very popular concept in the west... I stay in Europe and here people all my frens hardly buy any big toys for their kids .... They take it on rent from these libraries .. Ofcourse the cildren they get bored of these toys so easily and then they can return it ..... But In India As far as I know the concept is more for underprivileged kids ... Its started by some NGO called Children Toy foundation . This is their address in Mumbai ;

I dnt know if they have started the same else where ..... but even if it is I dnt think the affluent people of India wud want to rent toys ... i guess its not there in our culture.... but i hope such a thing gains popularity ...

have you considered being a stay at home mom? the first 3 years are crucial for bonding.

Answering the first part of the question, that used to happen to me when my mum left me at things like playgroup & it was worse with my sisters. It is really common so don't worry but leaving her with friends & family members that she would usually cry when left with more frequently got us used to being around other people.

Some children cry when their mother leaves them at a playgroup and some children don't, it's both normal.

My local library started a 'toy library'.  There were many toys (many had been donated) in one part of the library and the children could come and play with them, but they could not be loaned out.  Every Saturday morning, there was a toy morning - parents came in with their children and could use the toys anywhere in the library.  It attracted a large group of people.

I HAVENT HEARD OF TOYS LIBRARY   BUT I WORK IN A DAY CARE AND   YES IT IS NORMAL FOR HER TO ACT THAT WAY  I SEE KIDS ALOT OLDER WHO HAVE ATTENDED DAYCARE FIR A WHILE TI STILL THRIW FITS WHEN THE PARENTS LEAVE BUT LET ME EASE YOUR WORRIES THEY DONT CRY ALL DAY AND THE TEACHERS DO EVERYTHING YOUR CHILD NEEDS TO ENSURE HER COMFORT AND SAFETY
