Question:

Tracey Emin - Genius or Fake?

Emin has been getting a decent amount of coverage recently, most of which nit-picks at her genius if it at all acknowledges said genius.

Emin is right. Why didn`t they nail Picasso or Dali for hyping themselves at the expense of their art?

All of this misses the point of Emin`s greatness. And from reading the interviews, I see it isn`t just her art which is great. it is Emin herself.

The point is she sees; she articulates; and she creates.

These are big, big female questions which I`ve never, ever heard acknowledged by men. Why s*x stopped being fun (for girls) once you`re past age 16? Well, maybe not age 16 but sure as h**l once you become a `person`. Men seem to like you only when they feel they can mould and guide.

Two, that women in the UK are over the hill age 55. Before that I think. Women are being offered sheltered accommodation age 40 in the UK and are made to feel, in a country where jail bait is adulated, they have no s*x appeal whatsoever.

Amazing!

  1.  She is not really worth the time of day

she has entertained us and like Hirst has grown very dull and boring, unlike some of the artists they aim to emulate.

Their lack of skill is sad and their need for approval sadder. Lets enjoy them as attention seeking people whose work, history will assess in its own good time... most children realise their work is of no great interest after it has been on the walls for a few years... parents fear to throw their scrawl away... Tracy plays on this fake interest... grow up and learn some skilled work apart form self promotion......Being fake 'fragile' is deceptive.
