Tracing family history. Have you ever heard of the christian name ' Tacie '?

It's my husbands family history . His ggg uncle owned a pottery works called sudlow pottery and this was the name of his daughter. It is definitely Tacie and not Tracie btw, as it exists on several documents.

Have you ever heard of it? What on earth does it mean?(apart from the fact the family are wierd but I knew that already! lol)

    Back in those days when many people were illiterate names were changed or veried. Sometimes it was on purpose due to family feuds.

    I have also heard of cases where one person would be on the run from the law or whatever and he would just assume a new name. So where you may grow up thinking your family name is "Smith" some great-great grandfather may have been "Jones" but changed his name.
