  4. hey well im just leaving my 8th grade year and going into high school!

and i've been doing track all through middle school

so i hope this helps you(:

400-this is one of the ones i ran;its one whole time around the track(the whole oval;1/4 of a mile) when you do this one its a good idea to pace your self yet still go fast, its considered a sprint so dont go as fast as you can at the beggining beacause then you wont have anything at the end.keep a moderate speed and on the last straight side of the oval give all that you have got left!

Long jump- i did this one too.in long jump your trying to get the longest jump with a running start. there is a long run way approching the sand pit(the area you will land in) SPRINT this approcha s fast as you can go!it gives you more length when you jump. you should start to jump at the very end of the run way get as close to the end as possible without going off of it.

100- this is the shortest race its a sprit!so no doubt you have to be fast!and i mean fast! its as long as one straight side of the track, and belive me the competition here is hard to beat

200- this is the more longer sprinting event. its as long as one straight side and one curved side of the track. again you must be able to sprint really fast and maintain that speed for a longer time than in the 100.

4x400 - also known as the mile relay!i did this one also and it is the longest realy there is. there are 4 people on a realy team.and in this relay each person runs a 400 (one time around the track)the fist person to run is the starter this person is usually the 2nd fastest at the 400.the 2nd person is the person with the slowest time of the 4.the 3rd person has the longest stride(they run in huge stepts, but its natural for them so dont try to run like this unless you regularly do.)and the 4th person is the fastest at the 400.once you are done running your lapyou hand the botton to the next person(unless your the 4th runner) this hand of is visual wich means you dont have to worry about technice so much.

4x200 - also a relay a sprinting relay.each person runs a 200 sprint.the handoff her is blind so you have to learn the proper technice in how to do this,im sure your coach will show you.

4x100 - the shortest relay and once again in all sprintin(actually running)events you have to be fast for that appropriate lenght.blind handoff in this one.

well i hope this helps alot(:

    good luck!
