  1. You should be light enough and felxible enough to vault over a pole in track. It is very fun if you are flexible because your able to acchive high heights. Good luck

  2. Pole vault is fun, scary, exciting, painful, and the most exhilarating event on the track.

Your semi-gymnast background and strength is what makes up the perfect vaulter. We used to train at a gymnastic academy in collage to help learn body control, so your one step ahead of the game already. I say absolutely go for it. It is a sport that gives you a rush that you can’t find anywhere else and do it now while you have the opportunity. You obviously have the skill set. Keep in mind that Pole vault can be very frustrating in the beginning because you are training your body to perform in a very awkward position. Just stay with it!!!!!!!! By practicing over and over your body will soon fall into a natural routine, and then the fun starts.

    Good luck.

  3. I say go for it.You maybe better at it than you think. And don't let anything stop you just because you think your small. Build up your muscle tone and you will be able to do it. You'll never know if you don't try.And always wondering what if?

  4. Same here!

I did pole vaulting this year and I was pretty nervous because I was a gymnast but I'm not that strong, and Im also the same weight but that doesnt matter so much.

I had sooo much fun with pole vaulting! Its just the first two weeks or so when you first learning. Its complicated when you dont know that much. I would  look up how to begin pole vaulting because then you know what you will do ahead of time and that will help so much.

Its not that hard once you get it (which will take a few weeks) a lot of it is easy understandable technique and sprinting about  30 ft.

    Have fun!!

But then after that its so cool because you can work on getting higher!
