Track times-8th grade boy?

We just had county championships, here are updated times:

55m hurdles 8.81

100m 13.75

200m 27.8

400m 63.90

I have spikes although we do not train very hard and we don't practice on a track. (next year i will)

How are these times for an 8th grader, and how do you think i will do in the future.

Here are my brother's times, who is a junior:

100m 11.6

200m 23.7

400m 53.3

Do you think i have a chance to get those times or will i never be as good as my brother?

  1. Your times are pretty good for an 8th grader, but they aren't high school level. Also I hate to say this but for a junior your brother's times aren't very good. At least for my league, but I'm not sure what state you're based in.

  2. Your times seem pretty fast, but not exceptional.  It should be in your genes, but it depends on height, if you've reached puberty, training regime, etc.  But from what you said, I think you have a good chance to reach your brother's speed in 3 years.

  3. yes, I think you have the chance. It doesn't matter how you are built or how tall or short you are. If you push yourself and work hard enough you will. And, he is older so he should be faster than you right now, he had more time to practice and train. And, the more competition you have in high school will push you harder and you will do better. Don't worry!

    Good Luck!

  4. yeh its probably in ur genes.
