When I run on the track, I can do the mile in 7:30 but when I do the mile on my treadmill, it takes me 10 minutes, but I get much more tired on the treadmill. Why is it like this?

  1. I have no idea but your track time is right

trendmill you have limited running space

maybe you are not getting enuff oxygen in your house- too humid in your house, are you distracted?

  2. the air quality could be it as the first answerer mentioned. nothing beats fresh air (: . but don't run in front of the tv if going for a good timed mile.

anyways could be you are underestimating you pace on the treadmill. try cranking up the speed. also check how your landing on your foot, many people seem to land on their foot differently on different surfaces...so pay attention to that.

pump your arms plenty, dont hang onto the handle bar when running. if you aren't already then just pump them more.

also a track has a level, flat surface. most treadmills have a slant to them. this is most likely the cause.
