Trackers and torrents???

Is there a benefit to having more trackers for a torrent? And if so, how do you get more trackers for a torrent; by uploading it to multiple websites??

Torrent  clients communicate with the tracker periodically to update themselves(the client) about new peers who are sharing same file.....so more trackers means more peers and also in case one tracker fails then you still have others which update you.

To get more trackers you can search the same torrent on multiple sites (torrent search) possible the same torrent on site1 has a different tracker than the one on site 2 .most torrent clients like utorrent add the new trackers to the existing torrent (being downloaded)  .

You however have to be sure that the new tracker being added is valid (same hash) for the same file (being downloaded).

There are also private trackers which offer dedicated high speed upload peer list...but these mostly are paid.
