Can anyone tell me a free website that I can find information about my father whom has now passed away - but resided in Scotland.

There is no guarantee he would be on any website.  Genealogy websites are not likely to have anyone who lived as recently as your father did.  Most people who appear on those are people who died at least 50-100 years ago.  And, it is unethical to post anything on the living, and since he died recently enough to have living children, he will not likely be on any genealogy sites.  This is to protect the living family members from things like identity theft.
