Question:

Traction Control on 96 cadillac deville

I had my 96 cadillac deville's radiator replaced with a new one by my mechanic yesterday. When I returned back home, I had no issues. Today morning I had no issues as well. However, during the afternoon, when I started my car, I found this 'TRACTION CONTROL' orange light was turned on solid along with the 'ABS' orange light which was solid as well. These were on all the time I drove. I then reached my destination and in the evening, while coming back home, on starting the car and driving, the ABS light did not appear this time, but the TRACTION CONTROL light was still on. It just doesn't go away and is there all the time I drive now. What could be the problem ? Would this be something to do with the mechanic fixing the radiator in the first place ?

  1. Yes and no................

The traction control switch may have been turned off while the work was done and the switch is located in the glove box near the power trunk release.

The abs light might be a completely different issue and it would be best to just have the vehicles computer scanned just for safety reasons.
