Tracy McGrady could be on his way to China
Tracy McGrady has undoubtedly been one of the best players in the NBA over the past decade or so. However that fact does not change the reality that the 33 year old still remains a free agent and has not received any major offer
from any of the NBA teams.
In the past and even this off-season, it has been a trend that players with no NBA offers have considered playing in overseas. And according to latest reports, McGrady joins the list and is reportedly considering pursuing his career
in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA).
According to 361 Sports, Qingdao DoubleStar are in discussions with McGrady’s agents. It is however believed that McGrady is still inclined to wait around for an NBA offer. One of the best shooting guards in the league during his
peak, McGrady’s last contract was with the Atlanta Hawks last season, in which he averaged only 5.3 points per game in a reserve role.
Dana Davis found dead in his apartment
The Memphis Grizzlies management made the announcement on Wednesday that their vice president of basketball operations Dana Davis, 56, has been found dead in his apartment. No further details were revealed regarding the causes
of the death.
There had been no contact with Davis since Tuesday and it was the main reason which prompted the team personnel to accompany officers from the Memphis Police Department at Davis’s home, where they found the dead body. Owner Michael
Heisley has expressed grief over the loss of the original member of the management team, which took over back in 2000.
"This is an enormous loss for the Grizzlies organization, but an even bigger loss for me personally," Grizzlies coach Lionel Hollins said in a statement. "He was a man of many hats with numerous responsibilities, always willing
to take on more and go the extra mile. We will all miss 'Double-D' greatly. This is truly a sad day for our organization."
