Tracy McGrady works out for LA Clippers
The LA Clippers are entertaining the idea of signing Tracy McGrady after the one-time All-Star worked out for the team on Wednesday.
McGrady played with the Houston Rockets and New York Knicks last year and earned $22.8million but played only 30 games due to injuries and falling out with the Houston organisation. He averaged 9.4 points, 3.9 assists and 3.7 rebounds in 26.1 minutes for the Knicks last year.
Despite having a good work out Clippers general manager Neil Olshey wasn’t giving anything away with regards to whether or not he will offer the 31-year-old a contract.
"The workout/visit went well, Tracy will continue to explore his options as will we,” he said.
The Clippers are looking for a small forward but McGrady may not be the answer due to his proneness to injury. Despite the injuries, Olshey believes McGrady is still someone who can contribute to his team.
"You're talking about one of the greatest offensive talents in our game, and if Tracy is motivated and he's right, and he wants to be with us ... how could you not bring him in and take a look?" Olshey said.
Olshey has known the seven-time All-Star since he was in high school and looks like he will be willing to give the former scoring champion another chance to shine.
