Trade RYAN WHITNEY!?

Why don't the penguins trade Ryan Whitney? They are paying him 4 million dollars a year to be the worst defensman on the team. He's an offensive defesman, yes, but even so, he didnt produce for sh*t in the playoffs. Trading him would be the best move Shero has made so far

I would assume that the PENS will trade one of their Dmen. They have 8 signed. Whitney or Sydor make the most sense, they free up the most space. Either one may be hard to move with their contracts.

Whitney is the most overpaid on the team.  every other contract negotiated with the teams talent earned their money.  Whitney sucks.  they would trade him but who wants a below average offensive defensman who lets up way to much and is less physical than womens college hockey also making 4 million a year. although if Vancouver would offer old washed up Sundin 10 mil a year for 2 years im sure some team would be dumb enough to trade for him

as a pens fan, sad to say, i think whitney is getting overpaid as well. i happened to take a look at whitney's contract today before u even mentioned this and i thought the same. whitney is good, but i think he deserves less. 2.5 million annually at tops. i wouldn't mind seeing him get traded.

Didn't produce **** in the playoffs? Give me a break. Please. What about Game 5 of the SCFs? You know when Gonchar got hurt......Whitney played more minutes than anyone else and did a stellar job. He matured a lot in the playoffs.

He IS NOT the worst defenseman on the team. Sydor has that cake taken.
