Trade Storm looking to be dominant in DFS Handicap
Only six runners have been attracted towards the all important class-2 DFS Handicap at Doncaster in England on Thursday, September 13, 2012. The competition will definitely be an interesting one and the winner will bag a cash prize of £16,173 in the end.
The going has been described as good in the 1 mile, 2 furlong and 60 yard race, which is scheduled to start at 16:35 GMT. All of the participants will be pleased about the track conditions and they will be hoping that the situation does not change throughout
the day.
On the other hand, the spectators will be expecting a close encounter at Doncaster, but they might end up witnessing a one sided affair, as the odds are pretty much in favour of Trade Storm, who has been in terrific form recently and is carrying the winning
momentum right now.
It will be difficult for the remaining contestants to challenge the race favourite, but anything can happen in racing, which makes it an exciting sport. Due to this, runners like Black Spirit and Specific Gravity will be hopeful of a decent showing in the
end. They have been given decent odds, but the punters will not get attracted towards them, as the track conditions will not suit them much.
However, Trade Storm will definitely enjoy the current situation, but he should not get carried away. He does not have a very good record, but his past couple of performances suggest that he will not make things easy for his opponents.
The four-year-old colt has participated in a total of 17 races, winning just three of them, which shows that his strike rate is on the lower side. He will need to make a big improvement in order to get the attention of everyone in higher classes.
The David Simcock’s trainee stared off his career in 2010 and gave some reasonable performances during that year. He started off the next year in a positive way, but lost his way afterwards.
However, everything seems to be working well for the young runner now and he will be full of confidence. He was victorious in his previous outing under veteran jockey, Jamie Spencer, who will once again be accompanying him today.
