I give:

- Matt Hasselbeck

- Randy Moss

- Greg Olsen

- San Diego DEF

I get:

- Donovan McNabb

- Chad Johnson

- Edgerrin James

- Santana Moss

- Dallas DEF

Hasselbeck's my starting QB and my backup QB is Schaub. My starting WRs are Randy Moss, Steve Smith, and Joey Galloway. My backup WRs are Bernard Berrian and Reggie Brown. My starting RBs are Marion Barber and Michael Turner, while my backup RB is Jonathan Stewart. Jason Whitten is my starting TE and Olson is my backup TE. I have San Diego as my starting DEF and Houston as my backup DEF.

Thanks to all those who gave me feedback on this trade proposal, much appreciated.

  1. you add depth at RB and WR but you're not making your team better with this trade.  fuggedaboutit

  2. You lose, Dont do it. San Diego is a Great DEF, and Randy Moss is going to have a monster year i think, Donavon is Horrible also..

  3. matt is more consistant than McNabb

and u never trade Randy or/and Chargers

  4. No Way

  5. i think hasselback better qb  and healthier

moss will have better numbers palmer and johnson fueding

sd  d will get more points then dallas

so no i wouldn't do this trade...

  6. You are getting ripped off if you accept that trade. Lets start at the QB slot.

In Hasselbeck you get a durable and reliable passer that you can count on week to week, trading him for McNabb is a loss because without fail McNabb is going to get hurt. He's already hurt in fact.

Lets assume you are giving up Randy Moss and Greg Olsen for the 3 way package of Chad Johnson, Edge, and Santana. It really depends on your RB depth, do you have 2 quality starters? Edge would usually be an RB2 in most leagues. Im assuming Moss was your first overall pick, so you didnt get an elite runner. This may be worth considering. Chad Johnson is a WR2 nowadays, borderline WR1, if he actually stops whining and plays some football. Santana Moss might have a big year in Zorns new offense. Olsen is a non-factor and should just be considered a roster filler with the QB situation in CHI what it is.

Defense: trading San Diego for Dallas is lopsided. Not by much, Dallas should be good, but SD will definately be better.

So it breaks down like this:

    1 loss on the DEF

    1 loss on the QB

1 possible gain on the 2 to 3 trade

This is the classic numbers game, just because you are getting 5 players to his 4 doesnt make it a good trade. You can only start certain amounts. remember that.

  7. I like the idea of getting Edge but I think I have to stick with the Hasselback/ Moss side. In my opinion those are the two best players involved in the whole trade. If you really want to upgrade at RB then just offer Moss straight up for whatever New England fanatics in your league are willing to part with. You could probably do much better than James.

  8. Toss up. I would say no i think though. Hasselbeck will probably do better than McNabb. I think Chad Johnson is a waste of life. James would probably be your most beneficial pick up in this trade. Santana Moss is par, and dropping Moss would weaken your receiving corps. Finally the Dallas Defense is not nearly as good as the San Diego Defense.

  9. Don't do it.

At QB, you aren't great but you are OK.  McNabb won't change that any.

At WR...you are dominant.  Two of the top 5!!

At RB you are good.  Barber has alot of pressure on him to do good this year..along with Turner.  Stewart will hopefully be starting by mid season.

At TE you are great.  You have the modern day F.Wycheck.  Waive Olsen.  You will start Whitten each week anyway.  Take a gamble on Ray Rice...Balt. RB.  He is a nice sleeper.

Def.  you are OK.  San Diego will be one of the better ones this year.  I would also drop Houston since they play in such a tough division.  Just keep one defense and when San Diego is on a bye...sign the best match up that week...maybe someone available is playing Miami.

    Good team..BTW.

  10. I would keep what you have.  Hasselbeck is consistent, a lot more so than McNabb.  Moss is a superstar and there is no superstar on the other side of that trade (Chad Johnson is far too inconsistent to rival Moss on the Patriots).  You can't rely on Edge James any more.  Moss and Dallas are about equal to Olsen and San Diego.

I would say no to that trade for the Moss reason alone.  If you need another reason, look at Hasselbeck's numbers over 5 years compared to McNabb's.
