Question:

Trade in on auto lease now? or when lease up in May '09?

have nissan maxima 2003. lease is up 5/09. not sure whether to buy a newer vehicle now when there are so many deals- or - wait until lease is up and see what type of cars are coming out new?

  1. Wow, a six year lease? I never knew they had those.

    Couple of recommendations. If you plan to BUY your next car, right now there are some incredible financing deals going on. For example Infiniti is offering 0% for up to 72 months on their EX models and 0.9% on their G and M models. As you get near the end of the year, you will also be able to negotiate rock bottom prices on the remaining 08 models.

    If you plan on LEASING your next car, wait until the 1st half of 2009. Basically around the time your lease is about to end. Leases tend to be cheaper towards the 1st half of the year. Leasing is not good right now because 09 models are brand new and offer little to no lease support, and the 08 models have depreciated too much to be worth leasing.

  2. better to wait, i did the pull ahead on my lease and they ended up taking the remainder of my payments and wrapping them into the price of my new lease so i ended up still paying the rest of a car i wasn't driving anymore!  

  3. was it a 6 year lease?  if not leased, i would just trade now and get a deal with the old model year sales.
