Trade value for antonio gates?

Hi,

My team is Carson Palmer (QB), AP-Minn (RB), MJD (RB), Tatum Bell (RB), Dunn (RB), Roddy White (WR), Santonio Holmes (WR), Javon Walker (WR), TJ Duckett (WR), Gates (TE), Whitten (TE), Ghould (PK) and Chicago (Def).

As I have 2 good TE's, I think I can trade Gates and receive a good WR in return. I need a decent WR as my RBs are already good. What sort of WRs can I target in a trade If I give up say Gates and Warrick Dunn. Some teams in my league stacked at WR may have Chad Johnson, Marvin Harrison, Boldin and Buress to trade. Can I expect to get any one of them in a trade if I give up Gates and Dunn. One more question when a player is placed on a PUP list does that mean he won't play in first 6 games.Thank you in advance.

  1. try to trade him for and dunn for bolden or  even marques colston. i personallu think u keep him and trade dunn and walker

  2. Maybe Gates and Bell will get you a Reggie Wayne if that team has no good tight ends.

  3. Wow you are stacked at TE - they're definitely the two best TE's - if a team is weak at TE and stacked on receiver you should be able to get someone like Boldin or Burress if you give up Gates and someone serviceable.  Look for a team with no good TE's who could use additonal RB depth (since Dunn won't be a starter clearly) and have a decent WR to give up.  Gates is an excellent fantasy player - try your best to get as much trade value as possible for him.

Here's what I found out when I googled PUP list:

The rules for the PUP list are as follows:

During the first six weeks of the regular season, players on Reserve/PUP are allowed to attend meetings and continue rehabilitation at the club facility, but are not eligible to practice with the club.

After the sixth week, the club has a three-week window (Weeks 7-9) to allow a player on Reserve/PUP to begin practicing with the club. Once the player begins practice, he can practice for three weeks before the club must make a decision as to his roster status.

At any point following the sixth week of the regular season through the expiration of the player's three week practice window, the club can add the player to the 53-man roster or place the player on Reserve-Injured. Additionally, at the expiration of the practice window, the club can allow the player to remain on Reserve/PUP for the remainder of the season.

  4. i would trade gates and keep witten cuz of gates' toe injury, the said he might miss some games in the regular season, your rb's are decent, AP has been hurt almost every yr of college and MJD was the most inconsistent RB last yr (look on nfl.com)

i would try to trade roddy white and gates for a stud wr

  5. The list of receivers you mentioned would be a fair trade.  Try for Colston also.  New Orleans has an easy schedule against the pass this year.  Also be carefull for Buress.  he is hurt again and has a long history of missing games due to injury.  You already have Holmes but Ward would be another good trade to get.  Not sure about the PUP rule.  Sorry.  good luck
