Look at these five players' performance after the trade.

1.C.C. Sabathia (from Indians to Brewers)

2. Manny Ramirez (from Red Sox to Dodgers)

3. Xavier Nady (from Pirates to Yankees)

4. Mark Teixeria (from Braves to Angels)

5. Jason Bay (from Pirates to Red Sox)

  1. let me break this down

yes cc sabathia has been doing good lately but every pitcher gets in a slump and the trade basically gave him a fresh start (which he desperatly needed)

Manny Ramirez well manny is manny and he works at the game consistantly he bats everyday in the cage and when he got traded he had a new motivation to in a sense "get back" at the red sox

    idk but nady

ill be honest teixeria is not doing well the previous three years have been amazing for someone his age and he will need some time to get used to the angels club

the other night he made a vital error in the 9th inning that would have cost the game if the angels offense wasnt so amazing

jason bay will never replace manny but is a good compramise

jason said in an interview on espn he will have motivation to do better now that he is on a winning team "it willl be a nice change of play"

  2. If you look at all these trade you will notice that the player also went from a non contending team to a contending team for the playoffs. excluding Manny he just does better because he went to the worst division in skill in all the MLB

  3. 1. GREAT

    2. GOOD

    3. GOOD

    4. GREAT

    5. GREAt

  4. Look at Griffeys performance for the White Sox (oops there isn't any!)

  5. It's not really amazing it's just what they're all about.

  6. Yeah, it's kind of wierd how well they're performing.  Maybe they just get a jolt of energy by going to a new team.  If you notice though, every one of those players is traded to a better team than the one they were previously on.  Maybe that helps.

Although, I wouldn't say that Teixeria is performing better on the Angels than he was on the Braves.
