Trading Michael Beasley would not yield benefits for Minnesota Timberwolves: NBA Update
The Minnesota Timberwolves forward Michael Beasley has spent almost three years in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and has never showed any loop holes in his games. He averaged 19.2 points and 5.60 rebounds per game.
Recently the Timberwolves seemed okay with his performance, but early in the summer many rumours were around as Beasley would be traded to some-other team in the league.
The primary reason of his early exit from the Wolves roster came out in the media as the Timberwolves management is not happy with his involvement with marijuana case. Beasley was caught by a police officer who suspected him having
extensive amount of marijuana in his possession. Two days later, the Timberwolves management told the media as they are looking deep into this matter and Beasley could be traded on his unlawful act. Though no action has been taken against Beasley as the lockout
has barred every trade, but many basketball experts have speculated about the potential trade of Beasley in before the next season.
The 22 year old has yet to adjust in the different environment of NBA. He was traded from the Miami Heat and landed in the Wolves in 2010 and played an entire regular season with the team. He left the Heat with great despair, when
the Heat traded him to the Wolves just to decrease the salary burden. The Heat management also broke the two years affiliation and traded Beasley just to keep Dwyane Wade while they also sign LeBron James and Chris Bosh for next season. He came into the Minnesota
Timberwolves with great passion and wanted to prove his game. He started the season with great consistency and improved his skills with every game. Beasley earned great respect after playing vigorously throughout the season.
Doc Rivers the legendary head coach of Boston Celtics also is a great admirer of Michael Beasley’s ball play and also has commented on his talent in the media. Rivers said, “Offensively, I've been a big believer in him, I just
think he can score. I said it two years ago: I think one day he may lead the league in scoring. He has a Carmelo Anthony ability to score the ball. He's a matchup problem every night; He has quickness and a shot at that size. That makes him tough to guard.”
Apart from Rivers comments for Beasley, the Timberwolves have also no genuine reason to trade Michael Beasley at this point. He has a great potential to become a superstar in the league and the Wolves should also give his some
extra time to adjust in the league.
