Hi, i am picking up my new car tomorrow and i know i need to hand in the V5 and MOT certficate but do i need to hand in the advisory notes that came with the MOT certificate?

Reason i am asking is that the SRS lights are on but i don't think the dealers picked up on this as they didn't take my car keys when giving me a value on my car even though i asked them specifically twice if they needed my car keys and they said no.

Also if i do have to hand in my advisory notes can they now turn around and give me a lower value for my part exchange?

Thanks

  1. No!

  2. The advisory note is exactly that.  It has no legal basis and you do not need to let the dealer have it.  There may be a moral right but no leagal one.  The dealer should have test driven your car before giving you a price....more fool him!

  3. No, don't give them the advisory notes and don't mention them, just give them the V5 and MOT certificate.

  4. Seeing as they did not give your vehicle a good check over, it sounds like they will sell your vehicle to a trader, so as long as they have the MOT certificate, they will be OK with that.

Good luck with your new car

  5. just keep stum...you dont want to give them any reason to drop the trade ins price...
