  1. No. It won't. And which memory are you talking about? Is the problem that you can't run the program? That means you probably need (1) more RAM (Photoshop uses a lot of RAM) and (2) you need to clean your hard drive. Remove any files you don't need, and if you have ended up with a ton of image files, either burn them to CDs or DVDs or get yourself an external hard drive (Hard drives are really cheap now, in many cases less than 50¢ a GB). This is a good idea anyway, you don't want to leave all your images on your main hard drive. You should have them copied off elsewhere, and an external hard drive is a good way to go.

You want to have both Photoshop AND Illustrator, they work with each other and one is better for one thing than the other. Photoshop works best with pixel/raster images and Illustrator works best with vector images. You can bring one into the other, but you really need to have both. There are situations where you do NOT want to be using  pixel-based image, especially, as an example, for logo design where you may need to use the logo at several different sizes.

Anyway, you might want to clarify your question by stating WHAT the problem seems to be, and WHAT memory (RAM or hard drive) you are talking about.
