Question:

Traditional Bridal Photos of the Family and Wedding Party?

I am serving as a photographer for my first wedding. I have the reception, ceremony, and pre-ceremony images down. It is the formal pictures of the family I am having trouble getting organized. Is there a certain place or position for family to stand during photos (I.E. Mother on left, Father on Right?). Am I missing any shots:

B/G + PARENTS + FAMILY + BRIDAL PARTY

B/G + PARENTS + FAMILY

B/G + PARENTS

BRIDE+BOTH PARENTS

BRIDE+HER PARENTS

BRIDE+HER PARENTS+FAMILY

GROOM+BOTH PARENTS

GROOM+HIS PARENTS+FAMILY

GROOM+HIS GRANDPARENTS

B/G+BOTH GRANDPARENTS

BRIDE+HER GRANDPARENTS

Some of the grooms photos will be taken with parents before the ceremony.

Also, any ideas on keeping everyone organized and moving in a timely manner? Is it ok to have the family on different levels, for instance the bride and groom on middle step, bridal party on front step to side of bride and groom, parents on top step behind bride and groom, and family behind??

Need some help!

  1. google wedding photography and look at other photographer's portfolio

Most of the pictures that aren't very "traditional" will come up when you meet the whole as a group - it's all about their personality...etc.

  2. bride+ bridemaids

    groom+grooms men

    bride+grooms men

    groom+bridemaids

    groom+grandparents

    bride with each individual bridemaid

groom with each individual grooms men

bride and groom alone (lots of shots)

    bride alone (dress detail)

    upclose rings photo
